"The 1/4 Miler"

It's go time Rick

The ole girl's already been sanded. Bondo'd the lip around the entire boat to prevent future splitting. Though it hasn't split yet. But an ounce of prevention's worth a gallon of cure.

However you can see the splits or cracks where the starboard and port sides meet the transom. Is my boating terminology correct so far?

Not to step on toes, but you should try bondoglass out on those seams rather than straight bondo. Otherwise I'd get some resin and glass tape to go over them.

Ahh, gotcha. I guess I've just seen it too many times where people just use bondo and call it good.

we're leaving the outside wall of the transom. Cutting out the inside wall and taking out the old wood. Gonna replace the wood with a dense foam and rebuild the inner wall with glass

Pretty sure it was a chapelle reference meaning he doesn't give a shit about stepping on Ricks toes.

He usually uses it to scrape the mud of the soles of his waders.

Looking good Red. You might want to look into 2 part, 8 or ten pound density urethane foam to repair the transom. Also I would reccomend you look into Interprotect 2000E epoxy to seal the fiberglass work when you are all done with fiberglassing.
Looking forward to seeing the boat all finished.

Glasses the bottom half of the lip around the entire boat. The. Ran outta cloth. Thought 3 yards woulda been enough. I'll flip her over and finish next weekend. Work tomorrow. But it's coming along nicely with no hiccups

Yea she's gonna hunt. When she's done she'll scull like a Cadillac.
