I have been searching the site for who are the moderators, which topics they are responsible for and what are their duties. If someone knows please post or at least lead me in the direction that I can find out for myself.
Thanx, is there a link for the extent and limits of what a moderator does and can do, or is it the game without rules? (TGWOR)

Forum level mods can edit/remove posts within their respective forum.
Global mods can do the same across all forums and have additional responsibilities of managing user privileges

Thank you.
Why did you shut down the De Motivational forum?

Because it was off topic, full of banter and needed to be cleaned up. I can't do that when there's 1 of me and a dozen of you...so I redirected your general babble to the BS thread where it belongs.

Serious question. If the description of "The Blind" says off topic threads in it, why can't we have off multiple off topic threads in the blind?

Of topic as in "not hunting related"...we aren't going to have 50 threads with general babble.
Want to start a thread about the new F-150? Cool.
Want to start a thread about some mundane detail of your day? Just post it in the BS thread

Never understood this "off topic stuff". The idea for forums is to yack and have traffic. If a thread gets "off topic" and the original poster doesn't like it then they can corral it back in. IMO. It seems to work fine on other forums. The Blind seems to me to be miscellaneous BS anyway. It's all fun and games.

Agreed. The whole allure of this place is it's a place where we can talk and handle ourselves just like we do in everyday life.

Some slightly off topic isn't a big deal when it's within reason. But when some new member joins in and wants to know how to rig decoys they shouldn't have to sift through 100 posts about what someone had for dinner and when they took their last shit. There is a wide range of subforums and many topics within that will fit just about any general post you feel the need to throw out. It doesn't need to be the top thread on tapatalk that it gets shoved into.

I don't think anyone wants that to stop, that's what makes this forum the best. But it does need some organization. Especially in threads outside of the blind where. Believe it or not, some people just want to use these forums for informational purposes. And I think a lot of those people are driven away.

I'd have to disagree. I don't think people are being chased away at anywhere close to the rate that would warrant any concern, and I'd venture the ones that couldn't hang, aren't leaving because Rex has fourteen threads about pizza delivery. The beautiful thing about lame threads is they die, and fall into the bowels of WFF. So where's the rub?

I don't buy this BS that several members are secretly pm'ing Admin and complaining about hijacked threads.

I don't think that there's a problem with off topic posts, and the rule should be changed to reference the OP's request. Some (the majority) guys don't care, and others really do. Let it run as a case by case basis, and be strict when necessary/requested.
New members are often given the business too soon, and should be given a longer period before tasting them like a regular.
Saying that Hawaii, and adult language are or should be the differences (what makes WFF more appealing) from other sites isn't what most of us were looking for when we came over. The 13 rules over here enforced to a T makes it very, very similar to 103 rules elsewhere adult langue/Hawaii or not...
I told Olly that I'll support consistency. If it means telling you douche nozzles off, and more mod talk, I can deal with that. Has to be consistent though, not every 3 months and it matters.
In the end, it's Olly's sandbox...we just play in it.

FUCK Red, say it isn't so. I've heard those words before. Quick, go wash your mouth out with soap and drink a bottle of something steeped in alcohol.

What do you base your thoughts on. If you look at the member roster you will see lots of members with one post and some with no posts. Seems to me that people who lurk here would know enough about the forum to join or not. Why join and have one or no posts?
Maybe you moderators should take a poll of the one post wonders and determine why they don't participate. Probably too much work for the Mod Squad. While you're at it how about coming up with a minimum number of posts (a number substantially in excess of zero or one) that a member should have to be able to use the classifieds?

i agree I think a little chatter in the classifieds is a good thing to keep it at the top as longs as the chatter is about said sale item
