One a year?

Postby simplepeddler » Thu Jan 01, 2015 10:24 am

I grew up with a dad that loves guns, mostly long guns, he literally had hundreds at one time.......

I try and buy a new (or new to me) piece a year.

any of you guys collect as much as use your guns?

Guns? I don't own any guns. Oh.... those guns? I sold them to Johnny last week. I don't remember Johnny's last name.

One a year?

Postby DeadEye_Dan » Thu Jan 01, 2015 10:41 am

I don't really collect.

I have guns that I've inherited and will never sell, but don't really use either.
As crazy as it sounds (to me) the only gun with real attachment is my old SBE that bought in 1998...it's been with me from Maine to Alaska to Kansas and Canada and a hundred other places too. Lots of great hunts and great memories.

Then I have the current flavors of the week that I buy, play with, get bored with and sell to fund the next project. Definitely more than one a year.

I have my guns that I inherited and guns I grew up with. Outside that I really keep it to what I have a use for at the time. Besides pistols, those get thrown around with what I want to carry. Maybe my thinking will change when I actually start working again..

Everything I bought had an intended use to it when I got it. Will that change? Hopefully, but I got to get out of college first.

LOL....that is fair......with all the guns my dad had, what I had in college was an old A5 that he traded a tank of gas for at the gas station

it sits proudly in the collection as well.......even has my last name carved in the stock (deer hunting is so dang boring when you are a kid)

Well I have a new A5 so I'm at the sane crossroad you were at.

In all seriousness I bought 5 guns in 2014. So more than one for sure.

Stripped lowers only count as guns to the ATF.

Oh. My. I was just trying to count them up....it's probably safer if I just said that I sold 6.

I have many guns, none that I kill nearly enough with. The one's I inherited from my Grandfathers are in my cabinet for show only and the one's I've purchased I use for what the hunt calls for. I've reluctantly only sold 2 and traded 2 in my life, besides the 2 some POS helped themselves to from the window they broke out in my truck several years ago. I have a very hard time parting with any fire arm I've purchased.
