I may be wrong but looks to be a type of millet I can't be sure of which strain though

I agree with Dixie. Definitely millet of some kind. Don't know about ducks but dove love the stuff.

I don't think it's a type of millet but I could be wrong (and probably are). Millets usually all have larger grains up top. Do you see ducks eating it?

It looks to me like a sedge of some sort. East way to tell is if it has a triangular shaped stem. Sedge is a good food sorce for all kinds of birds.

Since you've posted this, I've noticed field after field of what appears to be this same grass around here. I'll have to do some research.
