I'm glad to say that I worked at Gander before they went down the shitter (ba-dum-ching!)


When I worked there it was still Hunt Fish Camp, they actually employed people who knew about the departments they worked in instead of hiring kids who will work for cheap, and weren't trying to out size every other store in the 4 state area. I'm telling you, it all started when Mark Baker took over and tried his Home Depot philosophy on the sporting goods market.

You described our local store to the T. Last two times I was in there they had a frat douche working there. He was wearing knee high snake boots in perfect condition. Fresh pressed khakis and a pressed button downed shirt. While open carrying a pos ruger in the small of his back where he had no control over it. Wanted so bad to punch him in the throat.
