Less decoys and make damn sure the water is moving via jerk string or whatever mechanical you like. Sometimes I pull duck decoys all together and run a few Canadas instead.

Small spread. Good decoys. Be invisible. Lite calling. No gimmick decoys. (Mojos,flappers,feeder butts,ect.)
Mix in something other than just mallards. Throw out a couple wigeon or something to break up the traditional mallard spread.
