Has anyone bought any of the "used" golf balls from e bay or another web site? I for one think I will try it because the prices are very favorable and I lose balls like there is no tomorrow. If there is water on a hole I will find it. Looking at some Callaways on ebay 100 balls in 4a condition for approx 50.00. Seems like a good deal with no tax and free shipping. Lets hear from someone thats tried it......

Not a golfer but knew a now long gone retired cop who claimed to have built his house with the money he made recovering balls from water hazards and selling them to driving ranges. Another old cop buddy of his vouched for the story - but they probably told each other's wives they knew for fact the other never took a prostitute payoff...

Have never bought them myself but have heard good things, especially in that listed condition. If you're losing plenty of balls, you're game isn't to the point where the play of a premium ball will make or break your round (not that mine's good either!). Second hand ball market has done nothing but grown over the years from what I have seen

There are ranges that "rent" you balls by the bucket. A lot of good golf balls that aren't marked "range" get into the machine.
I think it was 75 cents for a little bucket of balls. I'd hit the range balls and throw any uncut non-range balls into my bag.
They got them from the water hazards. I was just putting them back for them.

I quit shootin' golfs when I found out they're endangered.

My game would not benefit from playing a "premium" ball or a new set of clubs. I wish it would though..........

Bought a set of clubs one summer. The oversized driver...thought I had to have it.
After using the dang thing a few times I tried a really old Ben Hogan driver. The guys laffed until I started hitting balls. Turns out that oversized piece o crap was taking about 25 yards OFF my drives. Switching to hobbit-size clubs helped a lot!

Went to school for mechanical engineering. Dreamed of making my fortune designing and selling huge golf clubs, tennis rackets, skis, and snowshoes because that's where the real money is at in engineering. Sporting goods.
Ppl are suckers for a shiny metal club.
