Location: That nuclear power plant lake

Cloud cover: variable

Wind direction: north and southwest...variable

Temp: Cool then HOT

Moon: Eclipse/full/new/etc

Special notes: I'm special yup

Waterfowl activity: minimal (I saw some ducks and a few geeses)

Waterfowl responsiveness: Are you kiddin'? (bad, real bad)

Hunters: Myself, Acorn, and AuNT BeTTy (uno)

Guns: That 390 thing

Malfunctions: none

Dog: U know. (he's yellow)

Special Equipment: Vaporizer

Birds by species: I saw some but no shots fired

Photo ops: There was a lot of Cormorants I could have shot.

Lagniappe: Had to look up what it means...none of that

Can't get motorvated to go look-see. I know there ain't no birds...yet.
Maybe this weekend I'll go take a look with decoys and a gun but I would not bet on it.
It's too damned hot.

Post script: If you think I'm ever going to tell the truth about my hunting activities you're out of your damned minds.

Went to the lake to scout and make sure my boat motor is ok.
Took a couple pictures.

First one shows how low the water is. The lake has a dam where water flows over the top and it looks like it hasn't done any of that for a while. It's 3 feet low or better.

The next one is where all the ducks were.
There are some teal here still but just a couple dozen maybe.
If you look where that fallen tree is on the opposite side...I've shot a ton-o-ducks right there.

I really like the color of that water. Any fish in there?

The lake is a cooling lake for a nuclear power plant, The water was about 85 degrees at the part where the tree cove is. It's called houseboat cove and if you go on the right weekend you can watch the guys chasing naked girls on the big houseboats.

There are several fisheries.
What kind of fish you want? It's not an easy lake to fish. Gotta know what you're doing and I don't.
There are walleyes, striped hybrid bass, large mouth, small mouth, crappies, etc.
I run trot lines on the part where it's allowed. Catch bigguns in June when they spawn.

It's a fairly big lake. Those two pictures were taken 3 miles apart or more.

Heard one heck of a wopper of a story so I'll risk getting banned and re-tell it here.

Apparently some old retired dude went duck hunting. Shot fiddy ducks and had around 400 crippless on the water when he finally quit shootin'. I'm not sure I believe the story.

Spose to believe some old retired fuck could actually carry 500 rounds or ammo.

That spot where the boat is in the tree cove. If you go there after duck season the area behind and to the right gets covered in mallards. The game warden's office is only a half-mile away and there's an access road that you can't see. He can be there in 5 minutes.

This keeps getting crazier. When the authorities checked his boat and car they found ten, no... nineteen, no... twenty-three firearms. Apparently the swat team counts guns the same way I count ducks. (not very well)
