Computer problems

@Olly
and anyone else who can add information.

When my dad died he was supposed to put passwords for his computers somewhere and we can't find them.
The problem is all sorts of stuff like phone connections and other crap is on the computers. One is the Ries Labs server.
My poor mom can't even turn off his cell phone service and other things because he ran it all thru the computers.?
The company is in limbo without them computers and it's snowballing into a big problem. (Ries Labs Inc.)

My brother says that if we use an op-sys disk to boot up a computer that the admin password can be changed that way.
IS THIS TRUE and for what op-sys?
Windows XT etc. I have no idea what system but am having ppl digging around the office looking for the op-sys stuff.
I bet they're up on shelves in the original boxes.
He was anal about that sort of thing.

Any help is welcome.
I've heard that it's incredibly stupid to fuck around with a crazy man's head.
