First time ever gonna miss the opener

Postby Throbbin Rods » Sun Sep 30, 2018 5:04 am

I came to waterfowl hunbting at the advanced age of 30. Fell head over heels and like all good duck hunters I take lots of days that I was gonna deer hunt and head out in the duck boat. I only ever missed one opening day, and that was 4 months after emergency brain surgery and I was on strict doctors orders. Been out of work 5 years due to a breathing disability, Karen was pusing me in a damned wheelchair for 3 of those years because I couldn't breathe enough to walk. All better now and wanted to go back to work. No one wants to hire a 63 year old Purchasing/Systems/ERP guy so I took a temp job as an estimator in a modular home place. Instead of estimating I am building an estimating tool with what they gave me to work with, Excel and VBA. Well, with temp jobs if you don't work you don't get paid. I believe I am gonna work the opener. Tears me up to miss it.

That is all
