When Gary came to my house to do trading he saw the field and my kitchen. He was kind of in shock to be on my stage. Weird but true.
We blew calls in the kitchen, ate gumbo, and off he went back to the far north where he lives.
He had to ask if the videos come from that field. Yup. Right behind the house. Same junky yard with chickens.

Internet credibility is an oxymoron.

That time spinnerman and I hunted.

Nothing got lost or broken.
Was a succesful hunt.

She wasn't kidding about making black raspberry jelly.
Bought panty hose to strain the seeds out n everything.
It's going to smell good here today.

An entire gallon of berries she picked with her own little hands. I think we will add a cup or two of this, cook the berries to soften them, then run them thru a sieve lined with cheese cloth. She decided the panty hose were too cheap to rely on.

Mushed em up with a tater masher.
Simmer a while....
The berries are kind of dry. Added 2.5 cups of the juice.
Black raspberry jelly like your momma used to make. :fishing:

Stick face in pot...inhale.oh God thats good.

I bet he's that bullrider that started bawling every time he got one foot on a ladder. On weekends he fell off cows.
During the week he was terrified of falling off a step ladder.
Is that the guy?.

Lately youtube is supplying me with anything but politics?
Someone hit a button somewhere and I got foreign beekeepers. This one isn't me but might as well be.
Same thing different country.

I swept the kitchen floor and found enough fur to make ANOTHER DOG.
July and August are the furry ones.

These random threads are perfect for stowing all the crap away in.
Otherwise there'd be a furry dog thread now.
It's your choice. One crazy thread or 1000?

I aint doing it. A preseason thread.
Mine started in February when I flocked them damn geese. Internet got cranky and I left two heads unfinished.
Think the birds will notice or care?
I'm ready for it today I could hunt in the morning if I had to.
Preseason?
Maybe I'll practice on the cutdown and small bore throwback.

No. Have fun.
It's supposed to be fun.
I saw my Dutch oven on the stove top.
"What's this for" I said.
"Amber wants gumbo".
My daughter is working on baby #4 and has a craving.
They should name kid #4 Full Nelson.
Two mallards are thawing.

Epiphany.
You can cook on a stove and take the grate off?
My wife is pretty smart for a blonde.
She said, "2 pounds of shrimp I gotta use the big one".
Usually she uses a smaller one.
Cast iron or forget it.
Her entire gumbo recipe depends on browning the duck halves in the cast iron pot to catch the duck fat.
Resized_20220704_101207.jpeg

Warning.
DANGER WILL ROGERS!
Our gumbo is creole style so please don't be expecting the Cajun variety. There is such a thing as Creole Gumbo.
Takes the internet a minute to catch up.

If it's not head-shot it's marked as a gumbo duck.
These two could go either way.
The girl wants gumbo so that's what she gets.
Resized_20220704_130313.jpeg

Two mallards on the 4th of July. I'm pretty sure it'd upset some of you if I'd honestly report how many I get.
My wife insists the skin must be on and the duck be whole or it's not fit for her gumbo.

She's been at it a while now. Cutting them up.
Resized_20220704_132634.jpeg

What she does is what she does.
Probably don't wanna hear about them legs she wastes. Could be wrong. Stayed tuned and I'll see.
Sorry. She thinks her recipe is a family secret.
Lucky she's letting me share. Usually I'm not snooping.
Oh...she decided to try adding "Tony Chachere's" instead of the crushed red pepper this time.
Sounds good to me

Perhaps some are not aware that my wife was being treated for cancer last year and is a survivor. Her hair grew back and everything is AOK.
Thank God she's here to show us how to do this her way.

You have these in your yard?
It's not bad. Plantains are edible.
I've not tried it but it is.
It's also a cure for bee stings but I've never tried that too.
This will drive the yard care fanatics nuts. :fishing:
Resized_20220705_063240.jpeg

This is edible as well but will make you sick as hell if not cooked right.
