Been spending too much time at the bee yard cutting brush. Today I burned stuff.
Been noticing the birds of prey that use the crown of the oak. The top is dead from lightning
Usually it's buzzards but today a big white and brown hawk showed up.

So I looked it up. It seems it is a rough-legged buzzard

Also called a rough-legged hawk, but they should probably still be very far north. If it doesn't have a red tail or white head and tail I a can't identify them. I wonder if this is another color phase of red tail instead of an Arctic nesting hawk in central Illinois in September.

There's a red tail version. I probably saw the goofy red tail.
It looked sort of like that rough legged one.

This one dry rotted and that line formed and cracked.
Had the weird waterproof tape so wth?
It actually worked.
These don't leak surprisingly.

This morning I took dog to bee yard.
He ran off a minute, came back, and was acting weird so I knelt to investigate.
He gave me a shit-kiss. Someone's been shittin in my yard.
