Usually it's buzzards but today a big white and brown hawk showed up.

So I looked it up. It seems it is a rough-legged buzzard

https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rough-legged_buzzard

So just a fancy buzzard

Also called a rough-legged hawk, but they should probably still be very far north. If it doesn't have a red tail or white head and tail I a can't identify them. I wonder if this is another color phase of red tail instead of an Arctic nesting hawk in central Illinois in September.

Cool picture

It's not mine.
There's a red tail version. I probably saw the goofy red tail.
It looked sort of like that rough legged one.
Basically ...big deal Betty saw a bird in a tree.

Is that spinner out? They’ll pass right over you if they see wings spinning.

It's not duck season so why use a spinning wing decoy?
I've got two.

My waders do not leak. Amazing they're old as hell.

Sanchris is more better.

Early in season a guy with a tiny boat with mud motor shot the roost. Need I go on?

This one dry rotted and that line formed and cracked.
Had the weird waterproof tape so wth?
It actually worked.
These don't leak surprisingly.

Since I’m wishing, I wish I wasn’t on call out duty this weekend so I could go hunt teal in an area where they probably aren’t.

Whatever become of the traveling BWT and mallard decoys? Thinking I may need some positive juju that arrives with a borrowed decoy this season.

My driver side mirror has been cracked for 4 years. Ordered it once, but was wrong size. All my buddies complain when they try to back my boat and trailer in the water.
