It's called Mallard Lake they once caught a,world record bass there I think. Maybe it was a state record. Who cares...fishermen.

Nobody is hunting not one truck has went by this morning. Watching my die hard pals quitting is rough.
They mutter a lot about warm weather coming.

Sigh. This place used to be rocking.
Now it's a bunch of ooozers.
This weekend...they'll show up from everywhere.
Name a state that's not Arkansas.

These guys are used to killing hundreds of mallards per season.

I was looking at google maps and found mallard lake but what’s the lake southeast of there, below big island?

My gas gauge was acting funny so I looked.
Fuel tank isn't supposed to hang down below the differential...so I inspected closer.
The rear strap corroded and had snapped.

So I drive home on smoothest roads I can.

So I fried a boat starter and broke a gas tank strap.
Made it hone without exploding.
Arkansas will beat you down.
The ducks make u humble.
Lot of humility going around

Fuck I could have just went to autozone and bought new straps. They go on easy.

But then I'd NEED help from my worthlless pos duck buddies. Don't be getting NEEDY".
They beat me down with texts.
Did yuh?
Where?
When? How many?
Hear shooting ?
Oh God 1000 questions but ask one question, ONE, and the bs flows. It's sick.
Scouting by gunfire that someone else heard?
Yeah. Gee God that's how expert hunters do it?
No but young guys do. :?

Vriners Confectionary is or was a big time candy shop in Champaign.
Rock bands went there to get pictures.
Bands like REO Speedwagon, from Champaign Illinois, went there and signed things in the shop.
This is Pete Vriner making some candy canes that they'll mail to us from Florida. They moved.

Fuck. Drove home to "not have to ask for help".
My local pals can't tolerate neediness but they NEED INFO CONSTANTLY.
They were trying to get me to guide them at rainy brake because THEY PUMP THAT WMA.
Thee roads there are way worse than at Big Lake and Big Lake is pretty bad. RAINY Brake can be Hella Hella bad if it rains. If I start getting needy my friends will run like hell.

The "hunt the pit" plan fell apart completely when I discovered that the pee ditch was dry.
To get to the pit you drive 7mile to north-south ditch.
Run to 8 mile and turn west then cut thru woods into the pit. Sounds easy. Lol. It is not

In the past 4 days I've torn down 7 beaver dams so if you ever run into some salty guy that is running you off on public that is why. At this time of season people have energy and time invested in manicuring these lanes and holes. It's hard work...no dynamite. Just brute force

Rap music?
Yeah we all got exposed in the 90s and early 2000s.
Affected our culture.

This one sticks out.

I’ve always thought “Peter Piper” by RUN DMC was the best rap song. Just take the nursery rhyme book and add a funky beat. Easy peasy.

Right before crap went to hell I bought this milk house heater. My generator won't go all night running it but close. Fill up, go to sleep, then re-fill at about 3.
Make coffee, go hunt.
That generator makes it all possible.
Harbor Freight
Heater was 22 bucks at Farm Supply
Run a small fan and the tent is cozy
I run the generator on my tailgate.
When off just shove it inside and close it all up.
Just leaving it out would be retarded.

I took some pics and videos but fuck editing.
Raw bullshit. I video's killing a wood duck but the camera fell over and it's chaotic. The usual.
Try juggling calling, shooting, handling a dog, and do a video if yourself. Cmon it'll be funny.

It's off camera to the left and there were two.
I did not get checked but they asked about my yellow dog and did I get a New one.
I'm the only one that hunted a white faced dog in timber. He cost me ducks but originally I got milo for hunting a lease in Missouri that ....sigh never worked out.
So I used a white faced dog for 12 years. It wasn't white at first but he got thst way pretty quick. Stress or something.
Milo was bred to be a pet. Very Mellow yellow.
Millet is like duck psycho.
Damn it's impressive the way he get a duck in timber in skinny water.

I don't care what it cost to hunt 4 days. Watching him find himself in the woods was precious. His nose works!

I think they can run a plate and find out you have a license. Federal stamp? No they have to check it.
Down there they do a lot of plate checking.
A stolen truck turned up the county over. Dude stole truck and trailer to move. They busted him with the truck and trailer filled with all his possessions.
What a fool.

My arms hurt. Bringing it home was smart. Tank was full I ran it low and bought just enough to make it home. That's probably the only smart thing I did.
