57 quail eggs this morning.
I've been cracking shells picking them up.
Wasted 4 today.
The supply on turkey and game bird starter...30% protein is getting tight.
I'm using chicken feed for layers instead. 16% protein but 4 times the calcium. I'm hoping it works and I get thicker shells.plus chickens eat the same feed. Having 3 types of feed sucks.
It should be fine. Purina says so.

The quail feeding thing is dynamic lately.
Thought I'd figured it out.
Went to get more and they lied and said it'll be here next week. It was not.
So my quail pals and I are sort of searching and studying what the hell to do.
I compromised and bought some "flock feed".
On the bag it had quail feeding instructions?!?.
I looked it over and like chickens there is 16% protein layena game bird feed for your layers.
There is a meatbird type feed for game birds too.
I investigated and damnit it's the same thing I feed my chickens and costs way less and is available cheap nearby. Fuck going to Monticello when Rural King is 6 blocks away. My feed bill just got cut in half.
I'm liking that.
The feed mill is in Bellflower and they're slow as heck if you order quail type feed.

The plucker ripped the skin off a chicken. Was too aggressive ...operator error.
It's a finesse tool I pushed it.
You WILL mess up a few birds learning.
I'd love to try it on a honker. Not long until September.

Today the familia got up and "just tore the roof off one of their houses". It is only 7 years old. All the houses on the street got new roofs in 2015.
Guess they need practice or something.
Must not be busy and are trying to get the neighborhood to re-roof. I'm fine.

Betty - You creating multiple user names and posting to yourself as if you have "followers" is indicative of just one of the problems surrounding you. Instead of modifying your behavior that many people find annoying and unnecessary, you knowingly build walls of self defense and in that effort - you are just lying to everyone on the forum.
