I was sneaking up on the pond. Saw a suzi so I dropped down and crawled about 25 yards to the top of a slight ridge. Popped up, there she was bam.
Duck flew off wtf no way I missed...
Then I noticed the banana barrel and that's what happened to my mod barrel.
Back in the 70s a wingmaster came with two barrels. Mod and IC.
Mine peeled back real nice.

Cooksey posted a mallard study from Tennessee. Looks like scientists have it all figured out but wait until I post my study. Traffic is about to pick up!

Anotherone...
We made gumbo at my daughter's house so she could learn.
Our can of Tony's was about 1/4 full so we gave it to her.
She uses it like salt. Loves spicy creole type food.
I didn't expect that. We got more at Walmart.
Good stuff it is

Psy-unce.

The outdated science I was taught...
You had to experiment and describe the
Purpose
Procedure
Data
Analysis
Conclusion.

Today's modern science is to spoon feed you the conclusion.
The procedure data and analysis can't stand up to scrutiny because...psy-unce.

Same belief here. Everyone and I mean EVERYONE has an agenda. Only believe what you experience in the field, that’s what’s really happening, not what someone is preaching or showing us some cooked up graph or bullshit aerial study.
Back to food:
I’ll send some of this to try instead of Tony’s.

Years ago I met this guy named Vernie.
Called him Vern.
He was saving up bungee cords so he could tie them into a long jumping cord and he was planning on doing it.
I talked some sense into him and got him to give up the idea but I think he got another one.

When I first joined a hunting forum I had " expectations" that the site had regional experts that were like textbook level experts with science- backed facts to share.
Suppose that was the mission of each site.
To promote members to that expert status then protect them with mods. Imagine trying to accomplish that and the amount of hurt feelings reports.
It's lousy but our hobby (lefestyle) doesn't have a lot of science-backed anything just a lot of shared observations.its very anecdotal.

Some members are disappointed about this and seek to change to their vision of what a website should be.
I was that way too at first myself.

You mean it's not populated by a team of unbending experts but is just a bunch of old guys telling stories?
Aw man.
I like it this way.

Chicken-fucked...
In winter you need a light on a timer to keep them laying.
My birds broke their perch and started using the other one. It took me a few light bulbs to figure it out but each morning when they fly down off the perch they were banging the light and
ruining the bulb.
I went thru 6 bulbs before I figured it out.

She got these for me when I said that death valley days is like "new old tv" to us. Was a little before our time.

This package crossed the USA twice to get here.
She was upset when it was in Washington state.

If you're less than 60 this series is relatively unplayed.
Good actors and the film quality is high.
Really good stories too.

When I was in grade school I read every western in the library.
Death valley days feels like reading an old western novel.
Good stuff

The balloon...
The balloon!
To make it clear why it was allowed to drift across a continent I'd say that "if it were destroyed over land evidence would land in a populated area".
Suppose the thing had an Apple cell tower attached with equipment from Motorola on board.
That'd start a ruckus and screw up somebody's cash cow....golden goose...whatever you figure it out among yourselves.
If it were only a red balloon.

I've posted about this before.
It's worth repeating.
The stuff is good.
Duck Soup.
Use the quick n hearty vegetable barley soup recipe but first brown a duck that's split down the middle.
Debone the duck and use it in the soup.
The meat gets very tender and hard to tell if it's beef or duck. Give it a try. My family loves it.

Yeah that wood duck is plucked and waxed.
Just using the breasts isn't quite right my wife insists that without the skin and fat it's just not the same at all.
She's cooked 1000 ducks and is picky as hell about it.
