Bit It

Postby PorkChop » Wed Jun 29, 2022 10:41 pm

Well made a last-minute decision to go fishing with a few the kids tonight. The bite was pretty slow but we still managed to take some walleye home. Probably the kids favorite part was when I stepped on the wrong rock and it wiggled and then I went for another rock and missed that one, hit a slimy green rock and went face first into the drink. Tried to stop myself from face planting into the rocks and bent my wrist and arm pretty good. I busted out laughing and then of course the kids started laughing. Sometimes you just got a laugh but I definitely will be feeling it in the morning!

The last time I went swimming was at Hood Lake hunt club. Steve Turner still alive?
I was with him and I mis-stepped and ...fuck it I swam around a while. They think I'm batty.
Must be true.
Back stroke wearing waders all day...lol

I am an Army aviator, I shall not drink.

But if I do, I shall not get drunk.

But if I do, I shall not stagger.

But if I do, I shall not stumble.

But if I do, I shall not fall.

But if I do, I shall fall on my face and hide my wings in the mud.

It's not so much whether one takes a tumble, we all sometimes do. it's that we recover with grace.

Kind of worrisome that I find myself seeming to recall more and more from my "Way back when..." When my MIL developed Alzheimer's, we moved her in with us for her final five years, and her childhood memories were clearly the last to go. After dementia took the ability to put an English phrase together from her, she nailed the Rosary in French with a cousin who came by and recited it so, as they had as children.

So if I start reciting nursery rhymes, somebody put me down.

And the yield strength of 1090 mild steel is 247 megapascals.
