Weird. From my oddball perspective I've got to bring it up.
All the honkers left.
That's molt- migration imo.
Around here the honkers disappear then return in September all stoopid n chit.
In January the field west of the Big Lake refuge HQ was stacked with Canadians. Lol

I'm still seeing some around here, but the numbers are definitely way down.

Let's hope the return is well before the 15th of September because it sure is a lot of fun hunting the dumb ones in early goose. They can make anybody look like a rock star

My purple martins have been getting thinner by the day. Maybe that is some of the migration being seen?

A flock of birds and a gang of paratroopers look the same on radar. Do no ask how I know please.
Do I need a scary black gun yet?

Doubtful but I did think about it.
Those moths emerge from their cocoons, mate, then die.
That part of their life is 48 hours maybe.
They dont eat. I'll look for the one that didn't fly away.
He gone.

This cracks me up.
I'd believe it if it were January and it just snowed a foot everywhere but here.
It actually happened!
Honkers galore showed up and 4x4s with big trailers and goose graphic wraps showed up.
And poof it was over.

The real question is were they “flying ducks” or were they “flight ducks?”

Ahaha...they flew westward. You figure it out.
Down at the wma we call them "new ducks".
You can tell by their feet.

They headed to Texas. What’s that about?

Must be a flight of flamingos looking for a dry spot.
I've been seeing reports of desperate ranchers lining up for miles to sell cattle.

And it's raining here.

Sopping wet here too. Might be all the BWT drakes headed to the gulf coast? But I’m buying a flamingo stamp just in case.

Was out at 5:45 pretending like I'm a dog trainer.
Ducks? Yes.
It appeared like gray ducks to me.
That must be the radar traffic imo but I'm just a pretend duck hunter.
Bird watcher with a gun.
Honkers are here too.

More: last conservation goose season I was getting lots of easy shots at ducks that I couldn't take.
Pintails, gadwalls, and teal flew thru my spread for a week then I went to Alabama to not shoot doves.

18 note comeback hail call on the MVP at your neighbor’s bedroom window would have made a great video.

I try to be quiet and nobody notices me running a dog loose. I'm getting away with it until someone complains.
Millet gets to run loose in the city.
That's unusual.

If this data is accurate and is birds...that's terrifying from my perspective.
It means radar has advanced far enough to pick up paratroopers. Them poor jarheads.

Hey if I get up.and go out at lst ducks are flying.
Not in big numbers but they have moved in.

OK...I listen to a ton of idiotic chatter about ducks.
ONE of the things hunters say is that the migration has moved eastward.
If these migratory birds are using the Mississippi Flyway they're off track a bit.
Perhaps this is evidence of what they say about an eastward shift.?
