Do you not hear too often anymore? I can think of one right off the bat: Milquetoast. It has come to mean feeble or timid and was the name of a Newspaper cartoon character. Who's next?

Oh boy this might take a while but immediately I'm remembering my grandfather saying " well I'll be a suck egg mule".
Given time I'll come up with more.

Oh... I worked with an old Mennonite.
He'd start sayings then assume you knew the rest.
"Buy you books and send you to school" he'd say.
I think the punchline is "and then eat the teacher".
I dunno...

My son in law....
He says "hazah" a lot and answers the phone "ahoy".
Did you know that they argued about how to answer the phone at first? Silly but true

“Well, I’ll be dipped in dog shit”
“Fucked up as a snake in a bush hog”
“Shit fire, save matches”

I used to laugh my ass off when heard as a kid. The old folks sure were a comical bunch, miss em all the time.
