If I wore a vest when I was a kid I really don’t remember. The only vests I wear are orange ones for pheasant hunting. That being said I bought my first casual vest (Carhart brand) the other day and feel like I have been missing out.
I realize this is probably a Liberace type thread but do you guys typically wear vests and have I truly been missing out all these years?

Wear the hell out of them for all things cool weather, hunting and casual. Pretty much always have one under my hunting jacket, dont need the bulk on the sleeves, just the core.
Great for a little extra warmth in a slight Louisiana-caliber chill during a casual outdoor outing, also great for core warmth while snow skiing.

Could all us SOB's share what type of dog your mother is?
Mine's a great dane. No vest.

Long time vest fan here. Have owned down and Hollow Fill versions "up north," but stick with three grades of fleece down here. Might catch me with all three of those vests under an outer shell, if it's cold enough, but you won't catch me being bound by too much insulation on my arms.
