Any other professional wrestling fans out there? If so do you guys listen to busted open on SiriusXM radio?

Don’t worry I fully prepared myself to get flamed hard for admitting I watch professional wrestling but I will always be a Hulkamaniac!!

Having had a hillbilly grandmother who'd get pissed when you said it was fake was as close as I've come. No, that's not entirely true. Once took a gal we, for some reason, called Betty Boobs to see the Mighty Igor vs the Sheik and found it rewarding.

The wrestling match with the gal or the one you watched was rewarding?

Fabulous Freebirds and Superfly Snookah was when I'd had enough.
Watched it with my roommate who thought it's actually athletics.
It's not.
It's scripted entertainment.

Forget the wrestlers name but some dude doing a TV interview asked him something to that effect and was slapped pretty damn hard and asked if that felt fake he ended up suing the wrestler

Pre-determined finish absolutely! Non-athletic and fake absolutely not. There’s just some things you can’t fake (some you can). And if you think what is being done doesn’t require the best conditioning, athleticism, and a callused body then you are smoking the devils lettuce.

The event that removed the curtain...
The venue has to buy insurance.
The rate on an athletic event is higher.
The venue came clean saying something like,
" you don't need athletic insurance if it's a scripted act".
Did you watch the series about how they train?
Fake falls and such..they slap the mat when they land to make more noise.

Sure they're giant size freaks but they'd kill each other if it were real.

Back in the 60s and 70s it was super fake.
A wrestler would get knocked out of the ring, hit the floor then somehow his head or upper body would be hidden.
When he came out...bloody mess.
Dick the Bruiser sound familiar?

The curtain was pull back when Kafabe was exposed during what is known as the curtain call.

It was exposed more than once.
It was way back in the 1900s when I saw the documentary where the venue revealed that their insurance policy was "for entertainment ".

That was for taxes. Entertainment is not taxed as much as sports. Vince McMahon is not a dummy

If you sat so but I'm sticking with insurance because guess what. It's more costly to insure a group of rowdy sports fans that tear things up like goal posts and stuff.

I was fighting this battle in 1979. My roommates, twins, literally acted out all star wrestling.
Tim would grab Tony, invert him, and start pile driving.
Argued with the pair over the reality and it was insurance then. Im not changing my story.
Perhaps it was both and it got exposed more than once.
I've been wrong lots of times.
Got proof?
I do not. Ball is in your court now.
This is an old argument.

I can't just accept a "link".
The internet is filled with bs.
Speak a little truth and they start raging.
I'm sticking to my story it's just as valid as yours

Ever been in an argument where you're arguing about which official story is legit?
It's possible that we're both wrong and all star wrasslin is completely legit and we both bought into a different lie and are championing it.
Who is fighting who tonight?
We can bet on the outcome.

More Google bs.
Is Roman Reigns a member of the screen actors guild?
That's a little confusing.

Why would they even mention his name if he's not "an actor".
He will be doing ads with ice T and Rick flair in no time.
They ain't even trying to hide it anymore.
And tyrus is kind of cool on gutfeld

When exactly was your version of the story current? I quit paying attention way before that I think.
Superfly snookah was when I quit looking at it.
I'll get you Michael Hayes!

Well since it happened a long time ago and is still relevant I guess the story is as current as it happens.

Cool.
I'm saying my official story happened around 1986 maybe.
If your official story is older, all you have to do is tell a little lie, I will surrender then.

Nobody does.
I still know what I saw. I've argued the same argument with believers since around 1986.
Ask my bride.
Tony and Tim are still believers I think.
I might make it another 90 minutes and then you are arguing with AFK.
Exciting isn't it?
Surrender now

OK I will break this down one more time. I fully acknowledge that the outcome of the match is predetermined. Meaning they know who is going to win. Sometimes that does change mid match because of unforeseen circumstances. So that makes it fake. Also some of them discuss moves before the match and some call during the match. Just depends on how good they are. But there is no way to fake the bruises and the welting of skin that happens during the match. Yes there are ways to take falls and punches to lessen the impact. Yes there is skin slapping.

You can be in great cardio shape but if you’re not in ring shape you will gas out quick. Even MMA fighter‘s that switch over to wrestling will tell you that. Just look up the Lawrence Taylor and Bam Bam Bigelow match. Or Mr. T at the first wrestlemania. Total gas out!

Finally you need to know when you’re being worked :fishing:

It is well known and documented that if you did something that Andre did not like you would pay for it and he would be the one that made you pay and if he did not like you he made your life pretty rough.
