Sunday hunting thread for Assateague

Olly, can we make this a sticky? :D

Anyways, yesterday was opening day of duck season for MO. We usually never go out opening day. Plus my hunting partner couldn't get out of work. Oh well. So we headed out today. I took Emily out for her first duck hunt. She was a trooper. Didn't complain at all, helped setup the blind and made sure we had plenty of snacks. She is a hardcore turkey hunter, but I just gave her the waterfowl bug. She loved every minute of it.

Here is her first duck. Just a plain 'ole hen mallard.

And here is the finally tally for the day. 5 birds. 2 drake gadwals, 2 hen mallards and one hen gadwal. Yours truly on the left.

I didn't shave. I just have a very red beard that doesn't want to show up in pictures. And yep, she had a blast. Can't wait to get her out again. I'm going to talk to her momma and see if she wants to go halvsies on some waders for her for an early christmas present.

Great job Mose. She looks like she had a great time. Looks like a neat little honey hole too

Its our new favorite spot. We just stumbled across it several weeks ago and so far, its been a sweet little spot. Too shallow and hidden for all the top waters to venture out too. A couple spots we have to hop out and drag the boat through like 5 inches of water.

I'm certain that is the only bug friend zone has given her

when i opened this thread, i noticed that your lady friend had a front tooth missing. but then i scrolled down a bit and noticed it was just a piece of dust on my computer screen. you had me worried there for a minute, MO.

looks like you had some fun though! next time bring here field hunting, but only bring one layout blind. ;)
