Everyone Is Different I Guess

Postby PorkChop » Sat Apr 22, 2023 5:52 am

The way everybody has talked about feeling like a million bucks right after the surgery I figured I would feel like 200 million because I usually am one of those people that recovers faster but this seems to be pretty slow going. Almost couldn’t get out of bed last night to P. It was pretty tough. Better this morning so far but we did sleep through one of my pain medicine times. Sarah is wiped out. She is a Saint!!

Hip replacement strikes me as pretty dang invasive surgery with lots of stuff being cut, stretched and torn. And you can't blame that stuff for being pissed about it.

This opens the door to a place you all do not want to go.
It took me months to get on my feet.
That was just a scratch you don't need to hear about laser surgery where it really hurts.

I shoot shotgun on Wednesday nights with a retired doctor, who has had both of his hips replaced. I don't think he felt like a million bucks right after surgery either. I don't think he shot shotgun for a month if my memory is correct?
He described the surgery similar to what Rick said, they twist and contort you pretty good to get that new hip in. I think you'll be a little better everyday and hope you feel like a million dollars in the end...

Had a little scare tonight getting back in bed. Thought I popped it out of socket. Leg went inward too much. Thought Sarah was going to puke.

Am curious.
I've got a couple of spare parts made of metal and it sets off the machine at the court house every time.
You ready for that?
I dont do airports because they'll get goofy over it.

Yep I am curious if I will set off alarms. I’m also curious if it will get cold and how that will affect me. I’m guessing if my body gets a cold it will take longer to warm up because they put that metal spike in you

Cold don't bug me.
If it does I'm not sensitive enough to notice or care.

I have a hard time watching those videos because the drugs have my face moving in all sorts of directions. My eyes won’t stay still. That being said I walked to Sunday Mass today and back with just a cane and I’ve been walking around the house with nothing. Progress is being made fast!
