Push Button Ignition

Whoever invented this needs a swift kick in the balls! My personal truck, and my work truck both have this. All I can say is if you have one of these be prepared for if your battery even is slightly below full strength for your vehicle not to start. It’s not like a turnkey where you might get the struggle but then it will kick over and you know you need a new battery. There’s no warning. You can shut your vehicle off and try to start it three minutes later and you’re dead in the water. I write this post as I am dead in the water right now at work and I am fit to be tied!

Battery is at almost 13 V and it’s not enough. These newer trucks need at least 14 V to get started. So now I’m waiting for Sarah to come to jump me.

There isn't one auto manufacturer that makes anything that is reliable anymore. Sorry to hear you're stranded. What a PITA.

While trying to jump it, it only got up to 13.6 V and that was not enough. So I had to drive Sarah home and now I have my personal truck. Stopped at the shop and got a battery charger and extension cord. There is an outlet at the tank battery. Plug the charger in first to make sure it worked. Lights came on just fine. plugged in with the extension cord and no luck. It’s one of those days.

Thankfully, I am off tomorrow and Sunday for the duck opener! Thankfully, I shot a limit of cranes and a honker this morning otherwise, I really would’ve had a meltdown!
