Soak them in buttermilk for about 6-10 hours before you cook them, and you won't be able to taste a difference between them and whatever ducks you normally eat.

I've never eaten em Jim, but folks round here callin ribeye of the sky. Supposed to be very tasty. Hopefully by this weekend I'll be able to confirm that

Now that makes 3 birds that I've heard called 'ribeye of the sky'.

While I find Brant enjoyable, there's no way I'd call it ribeye in the sky, or anything like that. Unless I'd only ever eaten below average ribeye.

After the lack of sleep this weekend and not being able to get caught up on it this work week, I decided to sleep in this morning. Gonna head out round noon when the tide comes back in for an afternoon scull

I've shot a lot of Brant in the late afternoon. Probably 50/50, afternoon to morning. Around here, they don;t come in to land, they stay out on the bigger water, so it shouldn;t matter too much.

No dice on the brant today. Had a good time and got to practice my sculling quite a bit. But there weren't any brant around. Tried sculling some widgeon but I kept getting caught up in thick eel grass. That was a bitch. Then the wind picked up and I had a rough row back to the truck.

I gotta say though for anyone who's never done it, it's just cool being out there
