Supplies:
1 Cammo Tarp (make sure it is longer and wider than your kayak)
20ft of 1 inch Velcro strips (if not self adhering buy glue)
1 kayak
Tools:
Scissors
Cloths pins

Step 1:
Layout tarp and cut in half.


Step 2:
Place one half of cut tarp on one half of kayak.


Step 3:
Pull tightly and hold in place with cloths pins.


Step 4:
Cut to shape of kayak


Step 5:
Place strap of female Velcro around kayak where the two halves of the mold meet.
Lie is recommended if you half adhesive backed Velcro or not.

Step 6:
Place strap of Male Velcro around the outside of your newly cut to shape tarp.
Place the Velcro only where the tarp is going to line up with the mold lines.

Step 7:
Place back on kayak.


Step 8:
Repeat with other half of tarp and kayak.

Forgot one thing above, to attach Velcro to tarp use seeing machine.





Step 9:
Buy a new green kayak and kill some ducks.

Very nice . I once made a ghillie suit type cover for my kayak using fishnet and burlap. Then I realized the kayak didn't fit my needs. 10 hours of work down the drain.

Canvas, I wanted to use plastic but I was worried about shine.

I'd rather go with canvas away, it may be heavier but it's a lot quiter and will last longer. It looks good.

I might steal this idea to wrap my red kayak that I use to transport deeks with in some of my spots that I hunt.

IDK, the canvas looks like it might need to be replaced every 2 years or so... the mucky water I frequent seems to have an accelerating affect on the decomposition... lol... have to let it air dry which doesn't help, cant be putting it in the dryer... At $45 it I cant complain, tho.

Also, It gets snagged on every thing, but that might have more to do with my choice to go with 3D canvas (leaf shaped holes).

I think I am going to add a step to the process this summer... I am going to have the camo canvas but over top I am going to add a fish net rimmed with elastic bands. The fish net for adding foliage and the elastic for attaching to the kayak.

I will add to the steps when/if I do it.

But thanks for the compliments, I was rather surprised it looked as well as it did.

That is what this girl is used for, transportation... we have thought about hunting out of them, but we found out the hard way that shooting left or right can get hairy when retrieving a duck a few years ago.
