I could cut you all the bamboo you wanted. Stuff grows like a weed around here. I'd be surprised if you couldn't find quite a bit somewhere around you, too, and most people are more than happy to have you cart some off their land.

Come to Champaign county and see what grows here. If you can find anything but corn and soybeans would be an accomplishment.

The woods "if any" are private or public owned and are forest preserves. You can't imagine until you see.
There are fields that are two miles square and not a single tree. It's flat land and plowed up everywhere to the edge of the roads.

Prairie. Nuff said?

I've been through, but I guarantee there are small ponds somewhere.

Here you go. According to this, Golden Bamboo is already an invasive species in Champaign County. Call the local extension office and get some tips from them regarding who wants it removed or has complained about it, then go tell them you'll haul away as much as you can.

Have wandered most every park or forest for 50 miles and have seen no bamboo.
I have very little faith in Illinois State anything when it comes to info.

I been telling them that my honeybees are dead for over 15 years and they still insist I have two colonies at the location I registered in 1988. I wrote them letters, filled out the correct forms, what more can I do?
I'm sure this bamboo exists...probably growing right next to my beehives. ;)
