Get that one that lies to women. That's the one I want, but I'm cheap.

I'm thinking the last thing I need is her being able to control the thermostat from her phone.

just give TP your address and work schedule. He'll swing by and discuss it with momma directly. No need for you to play middle man

I honestly had never heard of the Nest til john mentioned it. I checked out their website and they sound good, but I couldn't find a price so I couldn't say if they are worth it.
We always go with Honeywell because its a well known name and the 5 year warranty is comforting to people. What exactly is she wanting the thermostat to be able to do? The one I have installed at the shop can be controlled by Wi-Fi, has a sensor to display the ouside temp, can offset the display temp (your wife will think the heat is set to 72 but its actually say 69), filter change reminder, and "learns" how long it takes to heat or cool to target temp so that it only starts as early as it needs to.

That sounds bitchen. She likes the wi-Fi feature. I suspect so when I crank the AC when she's at work she can ruin my life and turn it down. She said its around $230.00.

Tell her there is another one on the market that has a color touch screen that will take an sd card, you can set the screen to display your family pictures off of the card. Like one of those digital picture frames.

"non-emitting standard thermostat". It's an industry term, not a brand.
