underwater electrical connection

Postby aunt betty » Mon Aug 12, 2013 6:24 pm

12 volts or I would not ask so save the gallows humor.
Plan is to run a trolling motor. Will solder connections.
How to insulate the connections?

I am thinking 5200 wrapped in this really sticky roofers rubber seam tape I have. Silicon it, let dry, then wrap it up.
Will it work?

Same here, we used them on the golf course. Looks like a clear plastic cylinder, which "opens", and it's filled with something. I honestly don't know what. You make your splice, mash it into the "stuff" inside, then "clip" the cylinder over it, and it's done.

Twist it, solder it, squit gooey stuff on it, wrap it, then piss on it?
