"Arkansas potatoes" with leftover pulled pork in it.
Wife requested it. Said she was dreaming about it.
Turned out perfect.
She had to fast for two days prior to getting the tunnel explored. :?

Glazed apple fritter and coffee for breakfast. Walmart made the fritter, but I made the coffee.

Reminded me of the duck blind with oven and stove.
5 burner propane heater.
Hunny buns out of the oven. Mmm

I'll probably try and hold "middle stake " hole for them on opening day this year. All.i have to do is drive out and toss out some decoys, wait, and they show up with boats.
Won't be long now.

I've made this dish in camp for fat guys and they all agreed its the best potatoes they'd ever eaten. ( they asked if id washed my hands in a camp without water)
Red and white both.
The margarine is critical.
Eliminate any one ingredient and its not the same....weak.

Speakin of hand washing... both the fuge and DHC are too pussified to handle this video.
It's hilarious. https://youtu.be/WVLosXe9Ugc

It'd be better to have both.
Next time she asks what I want I'll get a whoa Nelly.

In the movie drum beat president grant has a teenage daughter named Nelly. Maybe the sandwich inspiration?
She for sure aint that hot.

I came home to biscuits and gravy, bacon, scrambled eggs and coffee for supper tonight. Totally forgot to take a picture. Always watch my carbs now but I had seconds and really I’m thinking about going and having some thirds

Looks good to me.
My lady decided she wants ribs.
The frozen shrimp can wait.
Honey-rubbed prior to the spices
It's like sweet spice glue. :qh:
I forgot who the qh emoji is named for.

Malcom Reed Killer hog combined with Tony Chachere's is good when you get the hog sticky with hunny.

Salmon patties for supper tonight. Nothing special. A couple of my daughters helped a local farmer clean up today after last night’s storm. Brought home a big bag of chocolate chip cookies. Way better than the salmon patties!

I think you're the only one I've ever heard mention salmon (crabbie) patties. Crackers, egg, and a can of fish. Right?
We do it too. Made my wife learn it because my mom made them and I like it.

Ha ha Yep that’s how she makes them. Sometimes I think she puts goldfish in there instead of crackers

Those look dynamite.

Wife's got a full scale black iron pot of red beans coming along, a Monday staple in SE La.

WHY IS MONDAY RED BEANS AND RICE DAY?

In the 19th century, Monday typically was laundry day. Without a washing machine, the lady of the house tended to every article of clothing by hand. That didn’t leave much time for cooking, so dinner had to be something that required little attention. Enter the red kidney bean, brought to South Louisiana by those fleeing Haiti’s slave rebellion.

After soaking the night before, the beans were set on the stove with the “trinity,” the quintessential Cajun cooking base of onions, bell peppers and celery. It also was traditional to throw in the Sunday dinner’s ham bone for flavor. That’s now often replaced with sausage to complete a comfort food familiar to all South Louisiana dinner tables.

For some squirrelly reason my wife announced that we were having salmon patties.
Cottage cheese with pineapple in it on the side.

A salmon patty sandwich with lots of lemon is not that bad.

When I worked in Akiak, Alaska we had a cook from Ohio.
Every Sunday was ham and every Monday was ham n beans. Tuesdays were pretty rotten. Lol
The food was all flown in weekly. Must have been a fortune to feed us all..

If you haven't tried bush's campfire style chili magic put it on your list. The can has green in the label.

It's new. AB approved.

To go with chili these kind of corn muffins are the best imo.
I think it'd work on a fire.
Resized_20220727_113211.jpeg

We tried lots of ways. Heat the skillet up in the 400 degree oven, spray lightly with oil, then put the batter in and bake.
They come out crispy on the bottom plus fall out of the pan.
Excellent.
If you start with it cold you're fucked

Now if this don't make you want it you aint black.
Resized_20220727_122528.jpeg

Don't be stingy with the spray.
If you spray it first then heat the pan the oil turns black and uglies up your cornbread.

It has chipotle in it.
Not that bad.

Actually it's bad.
We didn't have milk so I used coffee creamer.
The cornbread is way too sweet that way.
It's edible but more like sweet muffins

Reminds me of the Martha Stewart biscuit recipe I shared.
Assateague tried it but his baking powder was 9 years past expired.
His turned out SOUR and the legend of Betty's sour biscuit recipe was born.
You gotta watch these guys online closely.
I make biscuits in the Dutch oven when I'm duck camping.

The dog says they're great
