It's $15 for a chuck roast.
Pot roast. How do you light it?

She picks out the food stuff but if I mutter anything about wanting a certain meal that's what she gets. I try to suggest things.
Last night we had baked chicken strips.
That shrimp creole mix is on my mind

Somehow a color blind dog has figured out to only eat the red ones.

Last night I carved some off one of them giant chickens.
Was like carving a turkey. :D Heated in microwave. :?
All we had was turkey gravy mix so we used it.
Made mashed potatoes. (Goes with gravy) ;)
Canned green beans with onion, bacon, and Worcestershire sauce. (Spicy).
Was like Sunday dinner during the week.

Chicken and dumplings is next.

Tomorrow is Kevin's birthday.
Wife bakes a cheese cake.
This one is going to be good it has a caramel layer that's home made with honey.
If I'm lucky they save me a slice.
It's in the oven now.

Years ago as a gift I bought her one of them fancy spring-loaded cake pans. Pricey. Calphalon.
The things she bakes in it...worth every penny.
It's a great gift and they cost way less now somehow.

She jad a co-worker buy one once.

Pork Chop...if your wife don't have a pan like that buy her one. The stuff it makes ...you'll be so fat. 8-)

Back when beef was on sale we stocked up.
Today I saw "ribeye" and thawed em out.
It will eat.
Not that bad.

Today I experimented with "stealth barbecue".
Grill on the fireplace log holder.
Worked OK.

Having Mexican tonight, but yesterday I made one of my fall favorites. Ed's special chili.

What is Ed's special chili?

I pick about 2 gallons of tomatoes and puree them in a blender and put them in a large pot to cook

I get about 4-5 lbs of burger, goose, venison, what ever. In this case the last of my goose burger. Brown in a frying pan with peppers from the garden. In this case a mix of red bell peppers and red and green jalapenos. I also had some extra onions on the counter so I added them.

I throw in the frying pan spices depending on how I am. Garlic powder, chili powder, and cumin this time. No measurements. Just what Ed's in the mood for.

Throw that in the boiling tomato puree. Let it cook a bit, taste test, add a little more of what it needs, then skow cook until it cooks down and is thick.

Lunches, dinners and snacks available for a week.

Can't stand the once a week cook.
My mom would do that stuff and sure...chili for a week wont get old.
Once I started identifying as a black female my appetite became quite fickle. Watermelon one day and I'm wanting ice cream and pickles the next.
Could it be?
Pregnancy?

Exactly one week. Enjoying the last bowl of Ed's Special Chili for lunch. Heated it in a frying pan. Melted some cheese on top. Mmm, mmm, good.

I think I have enough tomatoes left to make another batch  :?:

Two problems though. I don't know when I have time to do it and I don't think I have any deer or goose burger in the freezer. Should have had a whole lot of venison burger in the freezer, but let's not go there.

Fried up my wood duck breasts last night. They were very good. My wife loves pork chops, but she is diabetic, so breaded and fried like we used to just doesn't work. Maybe that explains the diabetes :?: So we tried the pork panko as the "breading", it's like ground pork rinds and it's pretty good and no carbs. Dipped in eggs, coated in pork panko. Turned out very tasty. Both the pork chops and the duck breasts.
