Tips for shooting a tighter pattern

Does anyone have any tips to shoot a tighter patter with my bow? I can keep my arrows in a small tortilla size patter out to 45 yards, but that isn't good enough for me. Should I save up money and put a stabilizer on my bow?
Here is what I shoot http://missionarchery.com/product/craze/#specs Is there a way to make arrows to make them shoot tighter? I make my arrows, there are aluminum not carbon fiber.

I'd take your bow to a competent archery shop and have them go over it thoroughly checking it out.

Then I'd trade it for a rifle with a scope on it.

I'll say this on advance- THIS IS ONLY MY OPINION

Like Dan said, take it to a shop where you can paper test it. Then, when you replace arrows, replace them with carbon. Even the best aluminum arrows get dinged up. Do they work? Sure. But with a carbon arrow, it's straight or it's broke, nothing in between. And i would highly recommend a stabilizer as well. it will help you shoot better and more comfortably. Other than that, just lots and lots of practice.

Yup. At distances like that, the aluminum arrows could be whats screwing you up. Get the straightest carbon arrows they have at the archery shop...I think mine are +-.003. A stabilizer will help tremendously, and make sure everything is aligned, tight, and tuned up on your bow.

Correct arrows for your bow are critical once you get out to distances.

If they had bowmags it'd be a different story

One of the things I do if I want to group better at 45 yards is start shooting at 60 yards. You will start shooting tight groups at 45 then

If you concentrate on doing everything the exact same (how your arm is, where your eye is, where your release is, how you release, etc), and you can keep those very constant (you know when you flinch or pull on the release) and the arrows are still not knocking each other, then I would guess you have mechanical issues or your arrows aren't straight.

How do you make aluminum arrows?

...and if Assa tells you to spend money on something, then you probably should.

Rest assured, before I make that recommendation, I have personally tried every damn thing I can think of to avoid it, but found no satisfactory solution.

Like has already been said better arrows and a stabizer will help along with making sure your bow is in tune. Other than that a big part is consistency and a ton of practice.

Also, if you don't use a kisser button, I would highly, HIGHLY recommend it. I know some people don't, but I have never been able to understand why they refuse.

They insisted I use one on my new bow. I've never had a consistency problem but with my release my thumb socket fits my jaw bone perfectly. Regardless, I got one and changed my head position a little so that my noise actually touches the string, and it did tighten them up a little more

If your using a peep sight why would you need a kisser button?

Peep sights are for pussies.

Because. You got a bead on that shotgun, why do you need shims?

I don't use a kisser but I do anchor the release below my ear then touch my nose to the string. It gives me a second anchor point.

olly analogy, you don't shim a rifle, you don't look at the bead on a shotgun.

I'm not doubting you, I don't know shit about bows to be honest, just seems redundant and another thing to make noise & slow the setup?

Honestly, like tripod said, it's not necessary. But wrist releases stretch, or you get a different model, or something. Then your anchor point will change. With the kisser button, it always touches the corner of your mouth in exactly the same spot, making sure you have the same anchor and sight picture. Think of it like getting the same cheek weld on a rifle every time. You have a scope, but you still want the exact same "anchor" every time you pull the trigger.

My "kisser button" on my deer rifle is my hat brim. It sits in one particular spot on the scope and "anchors" my head. I always wear the same hat, and have, for about 12 years with this particular rifle.

No shit, never considered my anchor point on a rifle
