So you shoot a single shot. Nice way to get around that.

Someone, I believe, removed my post in this thread. Guess you don't care how Greenhorns grow up.

You can't be talking to me.

I merely said that waterfowl hunters use semi auto shotguns, some wannabe guys use pump action shotguns and wimps, no nothings and gays use break open shotguns.

old school 870 super mag for waterfowl, 870 express or wingmaster for doves. The new 870's are a shell of their former glory. Remington are a butch of corner cutting jerk offs. They took the best made pump shotgun in history and screwed it all up. Now Looks like I will be having to buy a semi some time in the future. I'll most likely be going with the new Beretta. Pricey, but damn nice for a semi.

I own both but hunt with the semi-autos. Only use the pump for dog training and as a truck gun, because it's an 870 like those used in hunting retriever tests and the gun I'd least mind losing to a thief.

Have both. Started with a 2 3/4" semi (Rem 1100) in the 70's (dammit, I miss shooting lead :( ) , but switched to a pump when we started having to shoot steel for 2 reasons. First of all, the pump could shoot 3", and secondly, I didn't have to worry about jamming in really cold weather, I could shuck that shell. Switched back to semi's (SBE II and M2) about 5 years ago. Hit a $12,500 jackpot at a casino, and was wise enough to walk away  .......but not before giving my wife at the time, $1,000 to lose, which she did within an hour  As I've gotten older, the shucking action on a pump seems to take me off the bird too long between shucks, and it was a pleasure to go back to a semi. Looked at Beretta and Benelli, and after taking both apart, opted for the simplicity of the Benelli. Bought the M2, and was given the SBE II by a retired Oral Surgeon that I used to take fishing and hunting from time to time. Like them both, but the lighter M2 is my go to gun. My pump stays next to my bed in case of need for protection from home invasion. The shucking sound of a pump is a universal language, and any bastage that keeps on coming after hearing it, deserves a full load.
