Decoys

Postby Capttrae » Fri Oct 17, 2014 10:33 pm

My dad has about 3 dozen decoys he's had in the barn for about 10 years, not sure if they are just dirty or faded, I'm gonna try and wash them over the weekend before I head to work, if they are faded how much will that affect their effectiveness. Thx

Ducks can see detail far better than we can but don't always use the information to advantage. So even really bad decoys may work like a charm in some cases, while perfect replicas may not fool them in others. In your situation, I'd clean them up with Dawn dish soap and give them a go.

My opinion is they don't look bad at all.

It's funny how many different companies have used that exact same mold.

If it helps to ease your mind, mine looked waaaay worse than that before I painted them this year.
I'd say you're good to go!
