Whats your "go to" load?

Decided to try a box of Winchester blind side this last season. Absolutely loved it. Those 3 inch #2's were lethal on both ducks and geese. I also really like hevi metal 3inch #2's.

I shot some blind sides this year and never got into ducks heavy enough to make a definitive decision. That last weekend we got into em so heavy they seemed to be great. So I will be trying them out this season some more.

I also hated black cloud.

I've always shot the cheap loads. Win X or Remington fast steels, I dunno if it's just me but I could never tell the differance all that well.

Haha! Didn't he have some insane load that was a 3 1/2 inch load throwing #7 crazy fast? That guy was a hoot.

I shoot jehlers shells. They are wicked. We vary chokes and loads depending on the species and conditions. Our go to load is 1 1/4oz of 2's at around 1500fps.
Ever cut an expert open, it looks like welding slag.

No no no! They were 2 3/4" 3oz @ 2400 FPS. They would kill a goose at 200 yards! Stone. Dead. The guy was amazing, you should have really kept up with his posts!

I usually buy xperts and remingtons for $8/box. You've seen my photos on the facebook. apparently they do just as well as your kents.

I had a string of using xperts two seasons ago an they would not put a duck on the water. One mallard actually fell, rare bird for my area, layed there belly up for a few seconds. Then right after I pumped out my last shell at the hen leaving all her feathers on the tank the drake picked back up and flew off. I know it was probably my shooting while I was using the shells but it's stuck in my head and vowed never to use them again.

I have the most problem with kents. once they get wet, they don't want to fire anymore.

I prefer 3.5" Kent #4 or 2 for ducks and Hevi Metal #3 or 2 for geese and seaducks. Clyde why are your shells getting wet? No shell works the same once you get it wet.

No crap genius but your obviously keeping your shells in the wrong places if they are getting that wet that they wont fire.

Your grammar shows the obvious genius here.

I keep my shells in a shell holder when hunting. When not hunting I keep them in the house. I usually take 100 shells with me. They will get wet on the boat. I will dry them in the house overnight only to get wet again the next day.

I'm with you on this. I haven't speant nearly as much time patterning as the others here but what I did pattern the xperts were the best for my gun and chokes.

If it had to be one for everything, it would be a 1 1/8 oz #1 reload at 1635, if possible would also like 1 1/16 oz reload of #3 at 1730 for ducks.
