I just don't get the hate. I'm not a better duck hunter than any of the Robertsons, and I'm damn sure not as good a businessman. More power to them.

No hate from me. Although I hate the idea of "reality" tv shows, I think that they have the best one ever. Good values, and a functional family. Can't beat that!

I'm all for them making all kinds of money while they can, and think that the Mossberg partnership will be good for both companies. While many are "upset" with the wannabes, I couldn't care less. It might create more competition for a year or so on public land, but most will realize that it isn't a tv show on the river, and will fade away. Those that do stay will be pumping more money into the duck system to keep things going for a while longer.

And they have great beards.

I hate the fact we got off topic :tk:

I dont hate the DC, I would rather hunt with 10-12 guys from WFF more though.

Anywho, its coming to me FedEx ground. Jarbo has provided me a nice aftermarket extended choke for it. My cousin has the manual.

I will need to start sanding down the barrel to remove the rust. Then off for a dip. Seems like a shame to cover up that pretty wood, but even better to cover up that ugly ass rust.

Looking forward to shooting it soon...

Its a thought. But the folks that did my rifle and Jarbos shotgun do really good work. Fir like $100 (the amount Deadeye Dan leaves the sonic girl for a tip)
I could have the entire gun dipped in Max 4, etc.

That's not a bad price - but it's $98 more than Krylon.

It's just me - I hate a camouflaged gun.

I hear ya. and I dont hate pretty wood, but I hate scratching them. I have pained a lot of brand new rifles with Krylon.

The main reason I am selling my 870 is the wood and finish are too nice, I know what waterfowling does to them.

Have the metal parts cerakoted, and leave the wood alone.

I dont mind plastic gun stocks.

And I might let the wood on this one along and dip the metal parts.

The best back-up guns go, "beep beep beep beep" when they back up. lol

I bought a synthetic stock so that I wouldn't feel bad beating it up. I got a gun with wood stocks for dove season.

The stock on my 500 broke, and it was cheaper to get a synthetic stock and firearm set than it would have been to replace the wood stock.

My O/U will be wood for life, but I don't mind synthetic in the duck bond.

I think this is where something clever about tapatalk should go.

UPDATE: after filling out the transfer paperwork, the Silver Mallard is all mine. Sorry for the crappy pictures. Much more to come on this gun. One of my long term goals is to see Assateague kill a sprig with it.
