Think I got took

Postby Lamboicon » Fri Sep 13, 2013 7:22 pm

I think I may have been over priced on a repair. I took my rem 870 to the shop to get the ejection spring repaired. I already had the parts from midway an just needed them installed. The total bill was 68 bucks. How ever I'm happy with the work they did and happy to have the guy back. I have never had a gun worked on by someone else before so what's the going rate for this kind of work

Pretty much any type of repair or shop time across the board starts at $60 for a good repair job.

Did they at least give you a jar of Vaseline or a tube of KY Jelly? Perhaps the bill would have been the same if they would have supplied the part. But no, you screwed them out of what little profit they might have made on the spring. You didn't get "took". Did you even ask what the cost would be?

I think you paid about right for having someone else do the work.

I feel the same way about my HK SBE, and irrational fear or not, when someone offered me on that was in nearly new condition for $500, I jumped on it.

I shoot Browning Semi autos... Now if I got the opportunity to own a HK SBE I'd have to have it.
