Too expensive to make the same gun today, and they do kick more than modern autos. If todays autos are still functionibg and being used 100 years from now, you might have an argument.

I'd bet good money that there are modern semi's out there with more than twice as many rounds through them as even the most reliable Auto 5.

You're a lot older than I thought, if 1948 is your idea of "modern".

It's possible, no way to tell. Guns aren't made fpr almost 100 years and have the following they do by being junk. My 1954, which has never had the bolt removed is as tight and smooth as the day it was made, can't beat the fit and finish

There really is though, take the cleanest, slickest Auto 5 and any one of today's autos and run them side by side until they quit, you can't tell me you'd put money on the Auto 5. 100 years isn't really a fair argument, because it's likely that today's guns see more rounds through them in 5 years than most Auto 5's did in 50.

Perhaps if pitted against a modern Browning or Remington...

McDonald's doesn't suck, you suck!
I don't think they are bad guns, I just think they are over-glorified. And I'm curious what Rick has against modern Brownings, I know my Silver and SX2 have been borrowed several times this season because a certain other B gun isn't a fan of the cold...
