Hello guys new to the forum and duck hunting. Just wondering if anyone has used the Beretta a300 looking at new shotguns for my new found love for duck hunting.

I think there's 1 or 2 guys here who have that gun, they should chime in soon.

If you end up looking others, the Benelli SBE2 works and feels great for me.

I'm on the fence between the sbe2 and the Beretta. Is there any jamming problems with either of these guns? Do you really need a gun that shoots a 3.5?

I put in a wolfe spring and never had an issue. I shoot 3 inch number 3's. I like the option of shooting 3.5.

Both guns are good guns. As for 3.5, that is up to you. I have never shot a 3.5, but I don't have any guns that will handle that size shell. It might be nice to have the option to shoot what you want but it is not a necessity in my opinion.

Welcome to the forum! Yes, you do need 3 1/2" because they don't make a 4" yet. Benelli SBE's shoot anything from 2 3/4 to
3 1/2" with no adjustments just fine.

You want me to bring my 10 to the WCH?

Thanks for all the input guys just wondering if it is common to shoot a 3.5 at ducks or is that more for geese?

I don't shoot them for ducks since I learned its totally unnecessary, and seldom even use them for geese.

You get a heavier payload with 3.5

I have an SBE I use for geese and have not shot a 3 1/2" shell through it in years. If something ever happens to it, I'll replace it with a 3" Benelli.

I have only shot a handful of 3.5" shells through my Nova and they aren't necessary for either ducks or geese. That being said I have killed a lot of ducks with 3.5" shells but I was using a 10.

I've never felt the need to shoot 3.5" shells. I'd have no problem buying a gun that doesn't shoot them.

3.5" guns can handle 14,500 psi compared to 11k in a 3" gun, a worthy attribute if you reload

THIS

If the layout boat works out like it should I will probably switch over to 2 3/4" shells.

Choosing a shotgun based on, "will it shoot 3.5" shells?" Is silly as hell.
Shop around and buy a used AL390, A390, 390, or a 3901. Just do it. Trust me. You'll save a lot of beans.
