Um, I usually end up shooting in front of it, trying to over lead.

And I'm guessing you're basing this off where the wad was in relation to the target? Wads lie.

I'd put $1,000 down that says everytime you shoot "in front" of the target, you actually shot from Cali to DC far behind it.

Well you clearly don't know what the fuck you're talking about. Increase your speed and don't look at the target. Let the Rex be with you.

Wads lie, it's the truth. You don't have rifling supporting them or stabilization to propel them straight plus they lose speed quick.

What I am saying is, I don't swing as far past the target before I shoot, and it fixes my problem usually. If I still don't know what the fuck I am talking about, it doesn't surprise me, and it wouldn't be the first time.

That's a good thing you don't swing past the target so far. What you're doing is your eye to target relation is decent. When you swing too far in front, you're trying to aim the gun instead of flowing with the target. Basically you are referring back to the bead(s) which should be a big no-no.

Yeah. Most of the r=time when I hit it the first shot I am not thinking, I usually miss if I think, and have to go for a 2nd or 3d(rarely, because even if I miss shot #2 I usually stop shooting) shot.

Lightbody Memorial

88/100

I would of probably done better if I had shot a box or two before but oh well, I got 2nd in the short yardage group anyways.

Dont look back at the target. You are slowing your swing right before you pull the trigger and shooting behind the clay. And pay no attention to the wad, wads are liars.

Rule # 1 Sustained lead is not for shooting trap targets !
Finding the line and pulling through the target is a better option but it takes proper gun fit and mount !
focusing on the leading edge of the target is habit forming once you learn how .

Wads do lie but Winchester has a shell out now that lies less !

I'm to old to fear anything but not having a place or water to hunt is on my mind !
Clay target shooting of different disciplines takes a understanding of what techniques that work best .
And there are a few that will make you more successful , if you know which ones to use ?

Some do apply in killing waterfowl at times and when you know them , it come natural to your shooting style .

If you can break the first target ( with serious concentration ) out of a hundred , then the next 99 should be easier as
you already know how to do it ?

I do keep reminding myself !

Yep, very true. But fuck it. I'm done with trap shooting (for a good 5 years at least). Just wasn't having fun. My son to be new hobby will be F-TR Class shooting.
