Really curious to see how this goes. Are you going to break it down, or do it all as one piece?

I'm glad you're being the Guinea pig with this. I have a one I want to try.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams

I like my XLR 5 the way it is but I would like to know how the Lion captured your attention ?

Is it rated for 1630 bars , also ?

I believe all FABARM barrels are, I know my Mag Lion is. Surprising seeing the XLR5 is only a 2 3/4" gun, very nice shooters from what I hear.

I liked the guns after seeing the DU gun of 2001, I bought it and had to get a few more.

It is interesting the lions internal parts are very close to the XLR 5 design , that's what caught my eye......thanks
With the Lion having a TRI-Bore barrel , how does it handle steel shot in larger sizes ?

I wondered how well it would do with the tapered barrel , after talking with tengaokie and how devoted he was to the
HK SBE with the skinny barrel and his HG load of steel and the fab going from .740 to .725 bore dia. it made me think !

I'm glad that''s over though ! I like my over-bored guns better for steel shot

I've had an 835, Browning Gold & Silver, my FABARM will pattern with any of them. Never had a prob with the skinny bores.

I understand , now you can walk the line in the middle as you have a half over bored and half skinny barred gun ? right ?

Just kidding , I've shot 1 oz loads and RSI 65 out of my XLR 5 just to see........worked great !

Loading my own, and liking lighter I'm sure has helped me get good patterns with the Italian guns. If buying ammo off the shelf from goose to turkey loads, the over bores are less finicky. My 835 would pattern any thing you put in it, regardless of pellet or payload.

Is that to etch the barrel?

Oh, I was just wondering because we use it to etch galvanized sheet metal when we need to paint it.
