The reason:
Back when they manufactured the old 390's and even the walmart version they were trying to enter the market by putting out high quality at affordable price. Those older ones work as well or better than the new ones.
Same system pretty much.
3.5 inch shells? Forget about it.
The only part you'll ever need to replace is the spring that's inside the stock. Some guys replace the tube and spring with an expensive stainless version.
