I mean ammo.
For 3 decades I've cut open shells to examine the shot.
Back 25 years ago it looked like welding slag.
Really bad.
The last few boxes of steel I checked were nearly perfect.
The quality of steel shotshells has really gotten better.
I've got 5 flavors and they're all very good quality.
Hevi-Shot is the worst. Avoid it.
Have half a case.(flat)
It shoots. It kills. Cut one open and you can't see how it's that bad. Ever see little snowmen come out of a shotshell.
Cut open a hevi-shot..

I have a buffet of steel. They all go bang and sometimes a bird falls. But yeah, steel shot shells have come a long way since the federal mandate.

If you ever see them blue Peter's in the old school box snap them up. They're possibly the best most uniform sized and round steel shot I've seen.
However I've only cut open shells not shopped for reloading. Them blue shells are nice imo.

What triggered the thread?
A video.
Dudes patterns fell apart at 40 yards.
What'd I learn?
Nothing. I didn't know already.
Get em close...shoot at their bills.
