About 45lb and 55lb. Trapped these a few years ago and tanned them up and I thought they turned pretty good. One big one has no damage and the little one has 2 nicks on the edges. Both are winter pelts.

Damn, I just got $18 for large, slightly damaged A. Again, a few years ago, that would've been lucky to get $6. Holy monkey, I hope this keeps up into the foxes tomorrow.

They didn't do your foxes already?
Do you have more to sell now than what you put in the auction?

Foxes are tomorrow. And yes, I've got the majority of my furs still to sell. I wasn't sure about this early auction, so held some back. Apparently, I'm a dumbass.

AT, you sound too lost in the dark with all this considering the master trapper is just a door down. Is he going through the same undecidedness?

This was his first year in the early sale, too. He held back a lot of his reds, also. We'll see what today brings.

And Jehler and Dan can just shut up.

Just got some insider info.

Apparently due to the availability of the wildly popular cult classic "Red Dawn" on Netflix, fur hat sales are expected to increase 150-180% quarter over quarter, beginning in Q213

I'm very bullish at this point and advising strike pricing in the 44.30-46.00 range for May13 put options on XXLslightly damaged A's

The Chinamen know nothing of Red Dawn. It's probably just the branded name of their most popular dishwashing soap.

I screwed myself so badly. Muskrats going for $20, otter that went last year for $80 went for $150, and XL grade II medium coyotes are going for $110. You guys killing yotes for nothing better rethink.

They're selling percentage is only 2%, also. I cough up the $100 to actually join NAFA (you don't have to to sell your furs), but it's good for 5 years, so it works out to $20 a year, and you don't have to pay any seller premium. Plus, you get a profit sharing check. Last year I think I got $30. Not much, but then that was just gravy after selling all my furs for no fee. If you sell over $1000, it pays for itself. I can't for the life of me think why anyone would use another outfit, or sell to a local buyer. There are almost 1000 buyers there right now, from all over the world. More buyers=more money, in my way of thinking.

Might have to try for some coon next year!

On a side note, yesterday showed signs of lots of dogs moving, but nothin in the sets today. Did several move and resets this afternoon to change things up. I got thinking about it, I think I'm gonna leave them out for another week, then pull them all for a week or two, not even go into the woods and lets them get back to normal, the do a big complete reset.

Apparently I can trap them nearly year round as long as i am on price property with owner permission for fogs and coyotes. So I'll probably keep trapping until end of march, after that they'll be getting ready to shed, so then it'll just be shoot, shovel and shutup time.

Jarbo may become a predator master. Like seeing prices go up, has been very few people hunting fur around here for years

The lowest coyote so far went for $41, and that was a medium slightly damaged. Although I know most don't really care, since it's not your thing, this is crazy. Like if the USFWS raised every duck limit to 30 a day. Madness.

Gotcha, bummer. Do you know if that'd be because nobody sent any in or they just don't sale them?

No, it's always been my understanding that there just isn't a market for them. People use the muskrat in place of the mink if they can, so that's their market, but I'm not sure what the nutria would be used for. Although they sell possum and skunk, and I can't imagine what they'd be used for, either

That's kinda what I always figured. Atleast there is a good market for coons, foxes, coyote, otters and mink on that site.

I would be tired of buying fur by now. Let us know what you get for them. I would listen again but I'm getting ready to get power drunk.
