An endorsement of sorts for .22 ammo

Postby Tomkat » Sun Aug 25, 2013 3:59 am

I was up in the night taking a pee and I heard the unmistakeable sound of a possum eating cat food on the deck. I flipped on the light and sure enough there he was.

What to do?

I grabbed my Model 62 Winchester and loaded some of these in it.

The box says 375 fps. I did not want to cause a ruckus and wake momma up.

These little babies are QUIET. I had to use a finisher on the silver grinner. He actually growled at me. In the end it didn't matter. Momma got her rest and the world is a better place now. I am going to use these as a go too varmint medicine.

Hey TK- BB guns work good too. Porcupines and bears don't like them either

Do you use a high quality bb gun? Or air rifle as they like to be called?

I read an article about a guy who killed a bison with an air rifle. I wonder if I could wack a coyote with one....

I kill porcupines and just nudge along the bears. Jim Shockey has something on his channel that kills pigs.

What brand/model/size do you use? When do you mean brown bears?

Some of those air rifles are as loud as a standard .22lr

“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams

Whoever appeals to the law against his fellow man is either a fool or a coward. Whoever cannot take care of himself without that law is both. For a wounded man shall say to his assailant, "If I live, I will kill you. If I die, you are forgiven." Such is the rule of honor.
