Yep, you live at that but, you're in a valley. So, everything is up from your place.

About the only way to go down would be to drown in the river

Amen to that. Every 5 days or do we're getting a torrential downpour or some snow. Pissing me off.

I picked up a mile or so of river bottom to trap last weekend. Today I set 2 rat 1 mink traps and 3 fox snares for a sample of what to expect. I think I will check on Monday and throw a bunch more rat traps in. I saw 3 rats while walking around. Excited to see.

That's awesome! I'm on hold, because of the torrential rain yet again today and yesterday. All my fields are muddy flooded messes. Again.

We've been getting snow but right now it's raining. It's making a mess. I just checked one of my bait stations. Coyotes finally showed up again but didn't use the trails I had snares on. I only have two snares there right now. I moved them so we'll see if that makes a difference.

I set a few rat traps the other day and today I got 4 rats. I got the 4th rat in the trap that got the first rat. By the time I got back to the first trap I had already caught another. I'm excited to see what this property has in store for me.

The market appears to be a little shaky this year. I suspect there will be a lot of new trapper who will call it quits after one year

It wasn't a barn burner today but at least I wasn't skunked. I got some more marten sets moved, saw a deer and moose, and caught 1 flyer and a coon in my marten sets. The coon isn't real big but has a great looking coat. Was a bit surprised to see him hanging.

Well, once again I didn't have a stellar check but I got fur. The yotes didn't find my bait yet. Just a fox checked it out. There was a couple feet of powder to push through. I also was fighting sled problems. Either spark plugs or carbs. I ended the day with one nice male marten and 2 rats

Pulled a couple more rats today. If this ice on the river would go away and stay away I'd be able to put the hurtin to some rats and beaver.

I've eaten coon many times. I have a buddy who comes by and picks up any but the old boars I get, to eat. It's pretty greasy, but tastes good. I just don't much care for the greasiness.

 Not really. Aside from coon and muskrat and groundhog, there's not much out of the ordinary. I did see someone eating coyote backstraps fried in a pan, and the thought of that made me want to vomit.
