Still trying to catch him. He stole my bait at one set:

I reset, and put a trail camera on the trap. If I get any video, I'll be sure to post it

Did get another of these, bringing me to three since lunchtime.

The trail camera idea is genius. I always wanted to watch how them bastards can clean a trap and not wet it off.

Tie a piece of yarn around the trigger. Holds some of the cheese/peanut butter stink and they try to get it off. Works every time.

Almost.

You look a little under sized on that trap. You hook a rat with that trap, you better make sure it's staked down well! :)
I caught 45 of the little bastards in about a week here.

One time at my old duck club house. Boot and I set up three mouse traps in the mud room. Every time one went off we took a drink. We were resetting traps every few minutes..... I don't remember much after that.

Two years ago I manned the duck club during the time between the first, second, and third splits.

It flooded and every mouse in the county found that our clubhouse was the only dry spot for several miles.
I had a trapline going and used the dead ones as decoys. (had a bb gun)
Not much to do so I was the mouse commander.
Never did figure out a decent calling routine.
I've heard that it's incredibly stupid to fuck around with a crazy man's head.

Yep. I made about $400 last summer trapping squirrels using box traps. Gonna up the odds with a bunch of rat traps. And I didn't think Mepps did that anymore?

Yep they still do. Cash or trade. Not big money but it doesn't take much to chop off a tail. 110 conis work for them also. Spear a chunk of corn on the trigger. Snare poles are another popular way

I thought about trying to catch a couple. Figured people might think I'm a little weird chasing squirrels around though.

Same here, wouldn't be to difficult to do as stupid as they are here.

That's good to know. The reason I don't fish with lures is because they're expensive, and I'm terrified of losing them. If I could trade some squirrel tails for a few spinners, I'd be happy.

And an update: Nothing new on the rat front. All traps still set, and no video on the RatCam.

Thinking about moving the RatCam over to one of the 110s I have baited with cheese, just because I think it may be more entertaining, but I do really want to see how they can strip a regular trap without tripping it. Sort of torn, I am.
