Went out this morning .
Three sets
1. over looking two ponds one on each side.
2. In a dry leg of the river bottom.
3. On the edge of a 600 acer vernal pool.
The first two on one ranch and the third one on a separate ranch.
To no avail no response at all.
But a good time anyway.

Coyote hunting mid-day?

We started 6:30am although I have shot them through out the day.
9-10 am has been the most successful time for me according to my journal entry's.
The pic with the green weeds was our first set.

I haven't done any predator hunting, but would have guessed dawn and dusk (or later) would have been the hot times.

I have tried to figure it by time , moon phase but it seems like the only thing that's a for sure is if it rains heavy for several days and then the sun comes out they will be out in force.
For me It's been all about catching them foraging they cover a lot of ground.
But late morning has been the best.
on the thread another one bites the dust the three dogs together were kill between 9-10
15 to 20 minutes apart from the same stand.
each one came in a few minutes after the other ran up and looked at the previous kill and pow.

FF normally scores at truck stops at those times

There is one thing for certain when it comes to calling coyotes...
Nothing is certain.

I always use the fishing analogy,..."Sometimes they bite, and sometimes they don't".
But, if you're not out there, you won't know.
Sometimes it's almost as if someone flips a switch and they start responding.
