Can I put in an order now? Will it be ready by the opener? If so, money is no object. I will be needing 12 dozen eclipse phase Northern Shovelers..... 8-)

I'd love to gun over that floatilla. Are those for your spread or someone else. Nice detail, especially the hens.

Those are awesome meanie. Excellent job. I got a bunch of herters I'm painting up. I'm gunna include some immature males that don't have that full white look. Seems when they show up here there are quite a few without full breeding plumage

Been charging $25/bird as an introductory price...will go up in the future.

I will be needing 12 dozen eclipse phase Northern Shovelers.....

You should have been here last week...gave a guy 13 dozen of those for a piece of blackberry pie and a scoop of ice cream.

Are those for your spread or someone else

All those are headed to Discovery Bay. I won't even see them in the water.

By the time they get here they're all pretty much full plumage. If I ever get the time, and that's a big if, I'm gonna make some mallards without the full color spectrum for early season hunting.

Gene, those look great! Quite the difference between your first bird and these! And that was what, last year or the year before? If you keep going at this pace, Mintz is going to have some serious competition :D

I don't think so. Actually he's been a huge help to me. The first thing that helped me was when I bought his DVD's. I'd recommend those to anybody...great resource. I spent time with him in his shop this spring and he helped me even more. Great guy for sure. Lots of guys have helped me along. I'm the kind of guy who is always looking for a way to improve my skills or make something better. That get's me to try a little harder than some I suppose. I'm actually driven to create...character flaw I guess.

Have you made any Goldeneyes yet? I'd be interested in seeing pictures of them if you have.
I've been kicking around the idea of investing in some detailed GE spread material, including some good looking hens.
With the way thhose BB hens look, I think you'd nail the GE.
Do you have a website setup or should I just go to PMs with this?

Not yet, but they're on the "to do" list. I just have a Wordpress blog set up right now...nothing special. Honestly when this whole thing started I figured I'd carve a few decoys to hunt over. Then I started getting some interest in folks buying them. Now I've got multiple orders. I hope I get to hunt this year. I'll send you a PM.

I'm curious. What would a charge for brant? If I was someday able to twist your arm to carve some?

I've got a couple oldies I'll bring down in January. They aren't great, but repainted they'll add some numbers.

Never really thought about it. After I get caught up on current orders I'll see about trying a couple brant. If they come out good we can go from there.
