Posted: Tue Jul 23, 2013 7:51 amFinally got some paint on one of the black ducks I have carved. Time has flown by and deadlines are creaping up on me so you see a lot of work posted here soon. This is what I have on it so far.

Posted: Wed Jul 24, 2013 10:13 amThanks Rick. Honestly about 15 minutes....someting finally clicked after staring at enough birds and pics. The dry brushing of the darker colors took much longer. The lighter color within the feather shown is the base coat color.

Posted: Wed Jul 24, 2013 1:40 pmI've yet to try a more detailed feathered bird, especially a hen. That last bunch of GWTs was suppose to have a hen in there but I started painting them after being up about 24 hours. Next thing I knew I had all drakes, lol

I really need to get down there and spend some time in your shop. I wouldn't even have a clue where to start, but like Red, I need another hobby like I need a new appendix. But it's just something I've always wanted to do.
