Pair of ringers

Decoy carving talk of all skill levels!

Pair of ringers

Postby Scott R » Tue Jul 30, 2013 5:48 pm

Had to dig for these pics. I haven't carved much over the past couple of years. Kinda hit a little burnout stage that I am finally pulling out of. Should have some new stuff in a few weeks.

These are a pair of ringers that finished painting this past spring. Both have a cork body, tupalo heads, and are painted in acrylic paints.

Sorry for the picture quality. I suck at taking pics :D

Holy crap Scott, I literally said "wow" out loud when I opened this thread.
“If ye love wealth better than liberty, the tranquility of servitude better than the animating contest of freedom, go home from us in peace. We ask not your counsels or arms. Crouch down and lick the hands which feed you. May your chains set lightly upon you, and may posterity forget that ye were our countrymen.” ― Samuel Adams

That's right. Art is for the mantel.

This is art.

Thanks guys.

No mantle birds here. They are just straight gunners. Everything I do goes in the rig. Have several that I did the first year I started carving that I still hunt over. I do rotate some out as I do new ones but they all see work at some point.

Trust me...they look ROUGH after a season in my boat :D

I'd put that pair on the mantle. Do you have any examples of some puddle ducks you've done if any?

I had just started messing with some puddlers when I slacked off. I do have a couple I finished painting back in Jan I'll post up.
